This virtual reality version of the Gurob model shows most of the ship in its as-excavated form reassembled based on research by Shelley Wachsmann, regarding the placing of the birdhead beak facing forward on the stem. The change to the physical model was carried out by the J. Paul Getty Museum for a 2018 exhibition entitled Beyond the Nile: Egypt and the Classical World. More about their interpretation and a brief history of the model can be found at: http://blogs.getty.edu/iris/egyptian-ship-model-sheds-light-on-bronze-age-warfare-and-religion/
